America's 250th

The 250th didn't end on July 4th

The Declaration turned 250 in 2026, but the Revolution's 250th anniversaries run through 2033. Battles, founding dates and local firsts all have their own years, and committees are planning programs around each of them.

Rhode Island got there first: on May 4, 1776 it became the first colony to renounce allegiance to the King. Pawtucket's Slater Mill, a few minutes from our shop, opened in 1793 and is often called the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution. We've been striking metal here since 1948.

Planning

Work back from your event date

  4. 04

    Finish & deliver

Finished, packaged and shipped in time for your ceremony.

Questions

Commemorative FAQ

Request a Quote

Can you make commemorative medallions for America's 250th anniversary?

Yes. We strike custom medallions, coins and pins for 250th anniversary programs, using your organization's own design: town seals, dates, historical scenes and original artwork.

Can you use the official America250 logo?

America250 is a trademark of the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission, and its official logos are available only to licensed manufacturers. Mel-Co-Ed is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Commission. We can strike your own original 250th anniversary designs, which do not require that license.

Is it too late to order for the 250th?

No. July 4, 2026 marked 250 years since the Declaration of Independence, but 250th anniversaries of Revolutionary War events continue for years, including the Battle of Rhode Island in 2028, Yorktown in 2031 and the Treaty of Paris in 2033. Many towns are also marking their own founding anniversaries.

How far ahead of our event should we order commemorative medallions?

Lead time is typically 3–8 weeks after artwork approval, so start with your event date and work back, leaving time for your committee to approve the design. Tell us your date and quantity and we will confirm the schedule.
